What is Nexium 24HR 20mg Tablets?
Nexium 24HR Tablets 20mg are a generic version of Nexium (an H2-receptor antagonist). It was produced by Glaxo SmithKline Plc in the year of 1989. The name NEXIUM 24HR was invented by Mr. John A. R. Watson in 1961. He was the President of the Plc-sponsored AstraZeneca Group. Mr. Watson was the owner of the patent on Nexium 24HR. It was introduced in the year of 1983. NEXIUM 24HR is the only product approved for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in adults and children. The most common side effects are flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea and flatulence with loose stools and a painful or hard stools.
NEXIUM 24HR tablets contain 20mg of the H2 antagonist esomeprazole and 40mg of lansoprazole. They are an effective product in treating heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease in adults and children. This product is not for use in children. See Nexium 20mg and 24HR tablets section.
NEXIUM 24HR Tablets Dosage Information NexIUM 24HR 20mg should be taken as directed by the doctor and as indicated on the package insert. NexIUM 24HR 20mg tablets will not cure GERD or heartburn. Talk to the doctor if you do not feel better after taking this medicine.Do not take NexIUM 24HR 20mg tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the tablets or if you have had allergic reactions to other H2-receptor antagonists or other medicines. NEXIUM 24HR Tablets Safety Information If you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines, medicines you take regularly and are told to take them only as directed by your doctor, it is very dangerous to take NexIUM 24HR 20mg tablets. This includes over-the-counter medicines you take, any other medicines you get during the day and any foods or supplements you eat. See the Nexium 24HR tablet section. Take NexIUM 24HR tablets exactly as directed. Take it at the same time each day with or without food. Do not take more of this medicine within 24 hours than your doctor tells you to.

Do not use NexIUM 24HR 20mg tablets if you have stomach ulcers, bleeding from the stomach or bowel, or if you have or have had a blood clot in the stomach or bowel. NexIUM 24HR tablets may also be given to reduce the risk of blood clots. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are also taking a medicine called warfarin (blood-thinning medicine). You will be told when to take this medicine.

NEXIUM 24HR Tablets Dosage and Administration NexIUM 24HR tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor and as indicated on the package insert. Take them as indicated on the package insert. Swallow the tablets as a whole. Do not crush, break, or chew them. If the tablets are taken with a meal, you may be better able to swallow them. Swallow the tablets whole. Do not split, crush, or break them. Take them at the same time each day with or without food. Do not take them more than once a day. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and take the next one at the usual time.
